My doctor took me off most of my pills and left me taking @Metformin, @Januvia, and @Lantus (Solostar) @Pen. Anyone taking similar medications at one time? what are your doses and is it working? I noticed that my BG is lower in the mornings and higher before dinner where I take my last dose of Lantus and it's still high when I go to bed.
Is my itchy skin a result of using Lantus?
Have had type 2 for over 20 years. I'm told by doctors that I have to be on insulin. But, it is not really controlling my blood sugar as well as it should, and it's caused me to gain a lot of weight, including belly bloat! Not sure what to do. So tired of it. I was wondering if there was an Insulin that like Lantus lasts for 24 hours but also has a peak period unlike Lantus which does not. So does anyone know if there is this type of Insulin and if so please give me the brands and names of any information you may have. Thanks everyone for your help it`s much appreciated.....Nan...xo.
I am on Basaglar and take 52 iu's daily usually with evening meal.
I've taken Lantus solostar for a long time and to keep it short I had Toujeo refilled instead, I've taken it before, but I am on 26u of lantus and toujeo says it's 3 times more powerful but I don't remember being it that way, this morning I shot 26 like lantus, we'll see what it says in the morning.

For those using Lantus (from Lilly pharmaceuticals) will be switched to Basaglar - still made by Lilly, just a new/improved formula
Humalog (Lilly) users will switch to Ademlog… read more
Same thing here in BC. A few months ago I switched from NovoRapid to Trurapi and never noticed any difference.
