NP told me I did not need Humalog for eating times. She said all I need is Lantus. Is this true? My sugar was in the 300-400 until a doctor said , yes I need to take Humalog at times when I eat.

I am on Humalog 25 Mix and reading that it may cause heart failure ? Is this true ? What are the symptoms to look for ? Cause whenever an ECG is done so far I've been told it is 'clear'. I was wondering if there was an Insulin that like Lantus lasts for 24 hours but also has a peak period unlike Lantus which does not.
