Medication Fot Diabetes
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

There are so many firms/people advertising products that will cure diabetes with 3-6 months from using their products. surely the doctors that are treating us are qualified in subscribing the correc treatments and medicine. Are these people mentioned above registered with any medical council or is it just a fly by night money making scheme?

These are snake oil salesmen. These are supplement that might make a 2-5(0.1-0.3) point drop in your fasting blood glucose numbers.

Metformin is loads better at dropping our fasting blood glucose numbers. And most current, other diabetes prescription medications, can be safe and effective especially is we do some of the hard work by cutting our carb load.

1) By cutting out added sugars in food and drink.
2) A good way to start gaining control is to eat minimum carbs.
Breakfast 6 carbs daily
Lunch 12 carbs daily
Dinner 12 carbs daily
3) Portion control. I plate all my food on a 7 inch plate before eating.
Half plate very low carb vegetables.
Quarter plate protein.
Quarter plate 1 serving of high fiber carbs or 1 serving of diabetes friendly whole fruits.
4) Exercise if your doctors allow.
5) Positive attitude and helping others.
6) Baby steps. I can do baby steps and you can too.
7) Find a compelling reason to do what's necessary.

I wish for you more good days than bad and have many exceptional days too. Fight the good fight daily. Be the warrior you never knew you were.

Never give up, never surrender, never ever. You got this. Have a wonderful day.

Well said Graham. There are so many miracle cures out there which make you watch there video with them telling you they don’t know how long it will be up because Doctors Don’t like that they”have the answer” to all your problems. It’s a bunch of crap with a grain of truth. I’m with you supplements can help but not cure the disease. The old adage still applies if it sounds to good to be true it’s probably not true. Not to mention the exorbitant cost of said miracle cure.

They mostly sell traditionals and supplements so there is a small nugget of truth behind the ingredients.

They "were used" before medication existed and were "better than nothing" but the truth is that there is NOTHING that is either traditional or natural or created in some super-secret underground lab, to protect the doctors making it, who got fired for trying to tell the truth and are now in hiding from Big Pharma Hit Squads, that will provide even as much "control" as a single dose of Metformin.

And if you actually read the ads for such products, you see that if you sign up for the automatic monthly refill option, you can save hundreds.

That always leaves me wondering - if their secret cure actually works then why do I need another bottle for next month???

The supplements are not "useless" but they are not "toss your meds in the garbage and take them" effective.

If they were Diabetes would have been Cured a couple centuries back.

Like most scammers they are trying to pray on the Fear of those diagnosed with Diabetes.

Supplements can have their place as part of your "overall management plan" - I take a few myself. But don't kid yourself, they don't cure a thing and they will never even be as close to effective as the lowest dose of any actual Diabetes Med you can take.
