Hi warriors.
Everyone is different and our diabetes journeys are unique and at different stages.

Like Graham I've often found when I have more carbs than normal, there is a bit of a precipitous drop overnight, but my 2 hour number is higher than my well controlled range.

I have to be very careful and it is a bit of a balancing act for me. Most meals I try to limit to 4-6 carbs. If I don't than my 2 hour is usually higher than my target range. Sure I can balance protein, fat, and fiber and can have slightly more carbs, but I have to really work at it then.

A snack of a few blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or 1/4 cup watermelon will make me release more insulin than is needed to process the fruit and I have a net drop in blood glucose number at 3 hours. Find what works for you, and use that knowledge wisely.

From my experiential data, I know that most carbs bring my morning fasting numbers higher. My diabetes is quite advanced. So I choose to disagree with one of my heroes @A DiabetesTeam Member, at least for me.

Others that can't handle 100-130 carbs daily and have good 2 hour numbers might be in a different boat than Graham and nearer mine.

There is a case for both boats and many other boats nearby.

Your liver stores any spare glucose during the day when you fast at nighttime it dumps sugar into your blood stream to compensate that’s why you can have high sugar levels in the morning

It’s hard to say as it’s my choice to keep pretty low carb around 15 to 20 per meal and 5 for snack. My total daily carb is usually 70 to 80 max. Once in a while I hit 90. I did eat corn on the cob and potatoes in the same meal and I tested at 1 hr and then 2. I was 112 at 1 hour and 98 at 2 hrs. I was pleasantly surprised.

Any carbonation in drink's effects my kidneys. This last time I was in the hospital. Not for Diabetes but I learned about the nutritional Drink's mainly Ensure. I don't want to deal with my diabetes after 28 year's. I have learned that carbs do matter as does carbonation n I don't mix. Yes HKC I am with you our Northern friends don't have corn syrup or other additives that defeat us. Keto n Natural work's best for me. Hoping you are all doing good 💖🤗😊❣️
