If you are an insulin user it may be time to talk to the Doc about dialing back your dose.

If going low while sleeping (a "not totally uncommon event") and if you are not taking insulin which can just make that condition downright dangerous, having a high protein snack (meat or cheese works well) before you lay down can really help prevent a low.

The protein can be quickly converted to blood sugar "if you need it" but otherwise will not jack up your blood sugar.

That is a kinda "band-aid" trick that works for occasional lows, but if it is a chronic/regular occurrence then getting a Doc (sometimes requires an Endocrinologist) to figure out why and how to manage it may be in order.

Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member,
You had a hypoglycemic event. When blood glucose numbers get below 70(3.9) it totally sucks. I hate hypos and would do anything I could to avoid them.

The protocols are to ingest 15 grams sugars wait 15 minutes, test again, if still too low, 15 more grams sugars. Repeat if necessary.

Baby steps. I can do baby steps and you can too.

What are your diabetes medications. What and when did you eat over the last 48 hours.

Anything else going on.
