Do any men have UTI infections periodically

Insulin isn't usually the cause of excess sugar in the blood which is often the cause of UTI's in diabetics.

It is quite common with SGLT-2 class drugs - Invokana, Jardiance and Farixga to name the three most common, because they are "designed" to cause the kidneys to filter out sugar and excrete it through urine.

Insulin, whether a basil or bolus type, do one of two things - first, they allow sugar to be absorbed into your cells to feed them. A second (function) is to convert excess sugar into body fat which is why many find that they gain a few pounds once they go on insulin.

If you are experiencing frequent UTI's while on insulin that is more of a sign that your blood sugar is still too high and may need to alter the dose you are taking or reduce your carb intake to better match your insulin levels in order to "deal" with the excess sugar that is being excreted which is almost always the culprit in Diabetes UTI incidents.

Of course, it could be totally unrelated to Diabetes. Only your Doc can try and figure out for sure...

UTI infections are more prominent in women, but also happen to men, especially if you are diabetic you will be more prone to infections in general, not only UTI. Make sure you drink enough fluids to flush the kidneys well enough.
