Sugar that high does not pose a threat "today".

It's doing a number on your heart, kidneys, brain, eyes etc but that damage takes time. That's why so many end up with severe complications - the "effect" of your level today is way in the future, you don't get a warning.

If you don't currenly have heart or kidney disease etc then you are not at any greater risk than Joe/Jane average. The danger for diabetics is when they "already have" complications and other conditions "right now" - not a some time in the future.

Check with your pulmonologist, if you haven’t been able to work due to your medical diagnosis your doctor can put you on state disability r/t Covid 19. And your diabetes etc puts you for serious health risk. That is what I did since I have a low immune diagnosis and diabetes. I want you to think about the protesters, beach goers etc. are all to close to each other. So you really have to be careful. I had bronchitis frequently while working 19 yrs in a big hospital. I saw an allergist who told me to see the immune Doctor for a work up that’s how I discovered I probably had a low immunity all my life. I have been eating low cost foods which is carb heavy. Weight up 7 lbs down 5 lbs. since Covid 19 started. Blood sugar 119-130. Take care! Hope you feel supported.

I was off work for 7 months after a pneumonia in 2018, after 5 months my GP though I was ready for work, yet staff health did not think so, so I saw the staff health doctor who kept me off work another 2 months. Maybe get a second opinion or go see the doctor who kept you off work if it is not your GP. If you do not feel well enough to go back, try and find someone who will listen to your concerns.

I'm in retail lots of customer service. My Dr doesn't seem as worried as I am.

Welcome to the group.

I guess it depends on what kind of work you do. Are you working close to others. Maybe ask your physician what they think.
