How Can You Gain Back Muscle Weight With Diabetes?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

When my husband's A1C was going up, he lost a lot of muscle weight. We are still working on his numbers which are getting better. Any suggestions on how he can gain some of that muscle back? He has started to go to the gym. Protein shake or Juven? Any help appreciated.

walking and swimming are gentle on your body and very helpful to your overall chemistry and esp your brain chemistry.

I’ve been going to the gym. I’ve read that it’s important to have a small protein snack after a muscle workout to help rebuild muscle. Muscle builders typically eat more calories to support their workouts. It might be good for him to discuss this with his doctor. Good luck!
