Diabetes is a hormonal disease and any abnormal situation like operations and sickness are pushing your bsl up. excitement and grief will do it too. this is what my endo told me.

Stress on your body from surgery. I had a good morning reading and they wouldn’t leave Day Surgery because it climbed. Also flying back from Europe got jet lag, did not drink enough and being dehydrated my reading went up to 18. All explainable events.

You had surgery. That is a major stress on your body. That always happens after a procedure or surgery for most people. Don't stress out about it. It will come down.
