I have just got results from eye screening and they say I have background retinopathy is there a treatment for this please
The doctor advised me to keep my BS in good control also blood pressure I seen a special Dr. For three years then he said my eyes had improved.
I had retinopathy about four years ago and I was going to this high end doctor ,then he said my eyes was better and I do not have to see him anymore just my regular eye doctor.l have been doing very good with my Alc.
My doctor told me at my last eye check that my eyes were "getting younger" because my vision had improved in my left eye and my cataracts had not progressed in over 2 years. I credit the diet I've been following for the last 29 months: low carb, high good fat, and moderate protein with fasting. Works. My BG is almost always normal so no meds.
Just went through the same thing. I spent 3 weeks being very careful what I ate and I lowered my insulin shot. My sugars stayed the same;but, the eye Doctor said there was definite improvement. He said that they can sometimes "heal" themselves. If they don't get too bad.
Not sure, but I think it might improve with good control of the diabetes.
