I am aware that if there is a deficiency of any nutrient, foods that are a rich source become very attractive... I try very hard to avoid sugars, and simple carbs... but I did have a grapefruit this AM, along with a diet toast (90 calories, and peanut butter) At lunch and dinner, I make sure that there is a probiotic i.e. naturally fermented yogurt, or pickle or whatever in the meal.. Since I have been doing that my irritable bowel is working properly... I have also avoided a nasty bout with the flu so far, and am now working to get my blood pressure under control... and my fingers and toes less cold. However I find that instead of pills and powders, etc. less attractive than the weeds in my yard... but the red clover is under 10cm of ice and snow today... so ... When I post here, I also consider affordability for all... getting old is not cheap... and chronic ailments may come under control... but will bounce back quite readily.
I supplement (slow release.) vitamins B, and C... I enjoy garlic in my meals (vitamin K) I hope I will be able to find some garden herbs soon... that could be used in teas or whatever...From my diagnosis I take a daily multi-vitamin to reduce cravings... just in case...
I am Cherokee Native American.....I use herbs on daily basis. Red Clover ( In your yard ) is good to get your Cholesterol down...I am on medication for this, but I want to be all herbs. It's my tradition and my culture. Here is a link, and good luck! https://www.legendsofamerica.com/na-remedy/
