Does The Heat Affect Glucose Readings?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have T2 diabetes, and was diagnosed about 3 months ago. My readings have for the most part stayed stable between 4 and 7 before meals. Tonight my reading was 11.8 before dinner. I had been out photo taking and it's been quite hot lately. Thanks in advance

There are two things I am working toward, the first getting off of insulin and the second not having to test so often. My last A1C was 9.4 (about a month after being diagnosed at which time it was 13.9) I go next month for blood work to get a true A1C (after 3 months). I hope that your hip is healing well and that you are on the road to a very speedy recovery.

I have not been testing for a couple of years already as my Dr said as my A1C is always good it was not necessary. I was just in hospital less than 2 weeks ago for hip surgery and they were always checking my blood sugars and they were good. I don't know if the heat would make a difference , but it's a good question.
