I dont like most vegetables so am having a hard time finding foods to help control my sugar levels and carbs are a great problem for me. I also like fish once in a while but would have to fix 2 meals if I make it because my daughter won't eat fish. I just would like some ideas on what I can do to help with my levels. I also am a stress eater and this tends to be a major issue in my daily work life. I do take cheese and pepperoni for snacks and have walnuts and sunflower seeds and pumpkin… read more

I love and eat Rice, pasta, bread, potatoes and all meat. I use "Unicity Balance" to supplement my meals and it lowers the GI value of the food that I eat. Look on the :"Unicity Movement" website at products how I can eat the food that I love and not the "Rabbit Food" that diet experts say we should not. It will show you how I lost over 36kgs eating normally. It works. Ask me more and I can help

I'm with you on the veggies. Not my favorite food. I'm a carbaholic all the way. I try hard to eat more salads, at least 3 per week, but there must be meat in it or beside it. Find out what fruits won't give you to bad of a spike and try to have at least one a day. Fiber is very important for more than one reason. I am not as diligent as some diabetics in cutting carbs. I have cut way back on them...very little bread, potatoes, no rice or cereal or pasta. I don't have as high a spike from wheat products as some, so I do have bread about 3x a week, but it's a 10 grain bread I get at the local grocery and sliced very thin and I make sure to count the carbs. I miss going to the bakery. I do eat sweet potato fries, baked in my toaster oven and I'm going to be experimenting with jicama. I guess the important thing is to keep trying. Look up the recipe for cloud bread and low carb English muffin, both very good. Today I'm going to make some almond flour scones and biscuits. Look also for impossible pie recipes. The carb count is low and the possibilities are endless. My grandsons love them. I'll make one for myself, have a portion and freeze the rest for a quick, easy meal later. Ok, that's about it for now. Good luck.

I always hated Vegetables myself, the only thing that is saving me right now is RICED CAULIFLOWER, I use it as a rice dish with all my meats and fish. Also I eat a couple of the SEAWEED packets from Trader's Joe, for a person that never really like vegetables or fish, seaweed ended up being my favorite and also if you google Riced Cauliflower you find a ton of recipes which disguise the vegetable very well. Good luck !!

Hello @Bosman thanks for your comment.

Unfortunately T2 does not respond to compassion, so compassion can be counter productive if it encourages sufferers to self harm and make their condition debilitating .

When we have a choice between likes/dislikes and T2 health anyone with personal experience of how bad things can get will give the same advice I did.

Poor T2 diet is self harm - and should not be encouraged by any diligent person..

Hi there. I started a Facebook group just for this same reason i wanted help to know what to eat etc. I won't leave a link because they might frown on that but you could always look me up on FB if you'd like to see my files.

Some of the things I've started doing is this.
Pizza in a bowl sauce on bottom cheese toppings etc microwave
nuts and salads
cool whip and Adkins bars for treats
I eat like one Hershey' kiss a day sometimes two
lots of turkey, pork chops ribyee sausage bacon
Wheat bread
This is a few my tricks but I hate that I lost so much cereal rice potatos cake ice cream it just sucks.
