G'day Teen.
Err diet and T2 has old school and new school professionals.

I changed from old school to new school specialist and went from 130 units of insulin back to tablets in a week on a lo carb diet and lost 20 Kg in the months that followed.

Recently the CSIRO (the govt funded world respected research institute in Australia) conducted research on a large scale that proved the "New school T2 Diet" is best by a long way.

Search the net for CSIRO and Diabetes diet.

Old school diabetes diets are a "no-brainer", the professionals need to get up to speed.

I have been on Protophiene and Nova Rapid for 25 years with the same problems. By using "Unicity Balance" I have lost over 36kg and dropped my insulin needs by over 80%. I have many friends here in WA who have done the same and I would recommend you go to the :"Unicity Movement": website and look at the products there. There is over 23years of scientifically proven and medically confirmed data that shows it works. My goal is to off all kinds of medication within 6months and I am working with my doctors and diabetes specialists to achieve this

Hi Teen,
In the first instance I would be inclined to have a specialists evaluation including a nutritionist to work out specifically which foods are making your BG rise faster. For some reasons, it seems the absorbtion of the insulin is insufficient and your liver is working harder to breakdown fat for energy and this process further increases the level of BG. I'm so sorry that you are encountering these difficulties even though you are active. Please ask to have a specialist diabetic nurse and nutritionist working together to help you have better control. God bless

I walk about 7 miles a day and trying next week to do 8 miles. I watch what I eat and adjust my insulin to my readings, but I still find that it reaches double figures for no reason
