I read somewhere that Diabetic drugs do put more weight on, which is why we need to balance our diets against that with portion control and the proper foods. It's a constant battle - I know. I'm frustrated too. I do my best, by the scale just won't budge.

I hope you find the answers you need. You have given me something to think about though. I walk daily, Eat fairly healthy, keep track of everything that I eat, having a hard time cutting the carbs down. I should be losing weight but it just hangs on stubborn as all get out. I am not a big meat eater, or I would try Paleo. The low carb vegetables are so much more costly. And I can't leave out my cheese and yogurt as I may be developing osteoporosis.

I am on Metformin 850mg twice daily and was on Gliclazide 80mg also twice daily with 12 units of Lantus at bedtime. I noticed (actually hard to miss) sudden drops in my blood sugar after eating a healthy breakfast, then taking my pills my sugar would drop sometimes down to 2.2 My doctor took my 80mg of Gliclazide and cut it in half. Things were good for a couple of weeks after that. I am starting to notice drops again, not quite so drastic lowest was 3.3 yesterday, if it continues I'll be seeing him again.
