@ Claude: You must do the monitoring and also decide what you eat to boost or lower your blood sugar levels. Recording the time and levels gives you an opportunity to think back to your intakes that led to your levels. Your insights will teach you which items help you and which make matters worse and should consciously be avoided. I know it sounds like effort, but once your new habits are responsible for giving you stable levels before getting to bed, after rising in the morning and in the middle of the day, you will live your life without the roller-coaster levels. It will be worth the initial aggravation.... Believe me!

Stay strong, my friend.

The only way I know is by testing. I have started to graph my tests and it is very interesting. I have a tendency to test below 7 at 4:30 pm when i am at home doing my regular running about of everything. Yesterday we wnet shopping, ate at Mcdonalds and tested 9.5 at 5:00 pm. Then we had pizza and a piece of white cake. My test went through the roof at 10.8 at 11;00 pm. It started to go down, 7.9 at 6 am, 7.8 at 7:30, a smoothie for breakfast, pecked at my John Deere tractor all morning in a cold garage, tested 7.2 at noon, another smoothie for lunch, more tractor pecking all after noon, no break, ate nothing all pm, tested 5.1 at 4:30 pm. My doctor wants to see me below 7. My average is at 7.6 right now. How don i stay below 7 during the nite, can't peck at the John Deere day and nite?

Most common symptoms are urinating often, hunger, thirst, blurred vision, headaches and no energy. Maybe others too.

You need to have something sweet when your reading is between 3 to 4. To work most effectively, you must have liquids, a glass of coke on when its this low. Alternately, yogi sip, low fat milk shakes. Ice cream can also help. There are other things you can have, like sweets, chocolates, fruit, but whatever is convenient for you.
