Short answer is "maybe"

They have been tested to give a valid reading for X amount of time

Might they work just fine after that date, sure, probably rated on the safe side of things

But would I be dosing insulin based on a test strip that was 6 months or a year out of date - maybe not - an insulin overdose can kill you

@A DiabetesTeam Member. I honestly don’t know but I asked my pharmacist who said they would be ok. Mine were about 2 months expired but very few left. That was before I did full testing, before and 2 hours after a meal.
